14-Wide Lego Train

Using REA trucks & Aristo-Craft knuckle couplers,
(these are the only "heretic" parts, all else is Lego) I'm building some "G-ish" train cars.

Here's what I've got so far. Just a sketch at the moment, one boxcar. It's in need of further detailing, like a brakewheel and the piping to go with it, the grey horizontal plates on the end should be brown, and so on.

Once it's done (only one side here!) it'll have eaten up all the big tile/plates from two copies of set 3451 Sopwith Camel. I've got one more set of trucks, so once this one's complete I can create another, maybe an enormous refrigerator car - I've got plenty of the appropriate white roof elements!

This page went up in 2001, and had on it a note that if anyone expressed interest I could put up some pictures of the skeleton that holds the boxcar together. Well, that finally happened late in 2004 - someone sent an email asking to see it! That means this page was actually seen out there in the world! Whee! :)

There is a series of thumbnails at the bottom of the photo pane. Clicking a thumbnail opens a new browser window, and all subsequent thumbnail clicks are targeted to that window.
